The "I am 99X" Foundation was started on October 15, 2002. Each year 501c3 organizations have the ability to petition 99X for assistance. During specific granting periods, the beneficiary is decided by a consensus between the station General Manager, Program Director, Market Controller and the advisory board.

Since its inception, the "I am 99X" Foundation has made contributions to several local Atlanta charities. Examples of such charities, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Upper Chattahoochee River Keeper, Atlanta Ballet, CARE--Tsunami Relief, The Rock, and more.

The "I am 99X" Foundation is funded primarily through purchases on the 99X Rock Auction and proceeds from the sale of Live-X CDs. Live X CDs may be purchased online at 99X.com or at your local Best Buy store (sold in Georgia only). The Rock Auction consists of a wide variety of rock collectibles autographed by many 99X artists throughout the year. The Rock Auction will be returning to 99X.com very soon.
